LAGUNA, Philippines-Antonio Detablan, A man from Calamba, Laguna has gone viral after knowing that he sells banana cakes for 120 pesos on the sidewalks just to save money for Aquirro Jazz “Aki” Detablan, his infant son’s liver transplant operation who was diagnosed with Billary Artesia. Billary Artesia is a rare disease of the liver and bile ducts, which occurs in one out of 10,000 infants, and 1 out of 1000 adults are said to have this condition.

A concerned citizen named Jenny Sumalpong decided to upload the photos of Detablan, who was desperately selling cakes on the street while holding Baby Aki in his hands. Her post has been shared 140,000 times, reaching the offices of the government and non-government sectors to help the child with his liver transparent.

In an interview, Jabee, Detablan’s wife, said that they had already reached 100,000 pesos, not even close to the financial demand of the operation amounting to 1.6 million pesos.

On the other hand, Baby Aki’s doctor said that the baby needs to undergo a liver transplant before he turns one, or else he would not be able to reach the age of two. In the meantime, Baby Aki is being given multivitamins as part of his preparations for his operation.

A father's love is unconditional and powerful; it can move mountains. This should inspire all people to be thankful for their lives.
